Common questions
How is this different to just booking a bin?
A bin solves the problem in front of you today, whereas a waste system looks at everything the site produces, works out what is going to landfill that should not be, and rebuilds the whole arrangement around that. Most sites are paying for collections they do not need and sending material to landfill they could be diverting, and neither of those shows up until somebody measures it.
What does the audit involve?
We come to the site and go through every waste stream you have: general, recycling, paper and cardboard, liquid, and anything hazardous or regulated. We measure the volumes, look at how the waste actually moves around the site, and review what you are currently paying. You get the findings whether or not you go ahead with anything.
Do you handle the liquid waste side as well?
Yes, and that is usually the part other operators cannot do. We are EPA and Waterboard accredited for liquid and prescribed waste, so the trade waste, the interceptors and the regulated streams are handled by the same people managing your bins, on one set of paperwork.
How long before we see a saving?
The audit usually finds something immediately, most often a collection schedule that is running more often than the volumes justify. The larger savings come out of the reporting once there are a few months of real data to tune against.
What size of business is this for?
