Common questions
How often should a triple interceptor be cleaned?
Every three to six months as a general rule, depending on how busy the workshop or car wash is. The more traffic through the site, the more often the pit needs to be pumped.
Why not clean it in-house?
The waste is toxic and has to be transported and discarded under strict EPA rules. Getting it wrong exposes the business to fines. An EPA-accredited transporter takes that risk off you.
What happens if the pit is left too long?
Waste compacts and solidifies at the bottom of the pit, which raises the risk of blockages and damage to the system. Fixing that later costs a lot more than a routine pump-out.
Can you set up a schedule?
Yes. Most workshops and car washes go on a set schedule so it stays ahead of a council or EPA inspection, without anyone having to remember to book.
